Beat face, impeccable style, and a charismatic personality are the makings of celebrity makeup artist Antonio "Style Channel" Shell. The D.C. native, whose comedic videos and impressive MUA skills have taken the internet by storm, serves face while giving us a daily dose of real-life advice as our social media bestie.
When the HBCU Honors are in your city, it’s only right to show up to the blue carpet and completely shut it down. Antonio did just that, combining couture fashion with a sprinkle of Shein, proving that high fashion doesn’t have to break the bank. Speaking with Women for the Culture, Antonio described his look, saying, "The outfit is giving very expensive bag, but the top is giving Shein... You don't have to spend too much money and break the bank. It's all about your confidence. I look like a million bucks, but the outfit was 30 dollars." What pieces do you invest in for fashion, and where can you save?
The culture was loud and proud on the blue carpet. Coming together to celebrate Black excellence just a week after a cultural low point felt like a much-needed celebratory moment. When asked what attending events like the HBCU Honors meant to him, Antonio shared, "You know what, this is really amazing. If we stick together, we are very powerful. If we stick together, we could take over the world."
The style guru left attendees with advice he is famously known for, "Be who you are, love yourself, self-love is the best love, and live in your truth." He also dropped one of his iconic gems for the ladies, "If his name ain't on that lease, he better keep that peace!"
