How To Embrace Your Waiting Season

Navigating a waiting season can feel like standing still in a world that won’t stop moving. Everyone else seems to be getting ahead... posting wins, celebrating milestones, living what looks like your dream. Meanwhile, you’re doing your best just to hold on to hope. But here’s the truth: your waiting season isn’t wasted. It’s not a pause in your purpose. It is purpose.
Sometimes, the most growth happens in silence. In the stillness. In the “not yet.” But that doesn’t mean God has forgotten you. In fact, He’s closer than ever; shaping, stretching, and strengthening you for what’s coming next. That’s why it’s so important to start here: in His presence.
Make time for prayer; not just the “God, when will it happen?” kind of prayer, but the deep, honest conversations that build trust. Crack open your Bible. Put on worship that speaks to your soul. This daily connection isn’t just comfort... it’s clarity. It’s direction. It reminds you that even in the unknown, you’re not alone.
Trusting God’s timing isn’t easy, especially when your plans don’t match your prayers. But His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t make sense. You have to release the urge to control every outcome. Surrender isn’t weakness... it’s wisdom. It says, “God, I trust You more than I trust my own timeline.”
While you wait, work on who you’re becoming. That’s the part nobody talks about. Waiting isn’t passive... it’s active faith. Use this time to cultivate the fruits of the Spirit: love when it’s hard, joy even in disappointment, peace in chaos, patience when it’s not happening fast enough. Kindness to yourself. Goodness in your actions. Faithfulness in the small things. Gentleness with your heart. And self-control when you’re tempted to settle or spiral.
Don’t stop serving. Don’t stop showing up. Your gifts still matter right now. Whether it’s mentoring a younger woman, volunteering, pouring into your community, or simply being a light in someone’s dark day, there’s still impact in your hands. You don’t need a platform to be purposeful.
And finally, stay grateful. Gratitude is a perspective shifter. It turns “I’m stuck” into “I’m being shaped.” Journal what’s good, no matter how small. Thank God in advance for what’s on the way. Celebrate the moments that prove you’re still growing; even if it’s just making your bed or showing up with a soft heart after a hard day.
Sis, you are not behind. You are not forgotten. You are not being punished. You are being prepared. There is strength in your stillness. There is purpose in your pause. There is beauty in your becoming.
Even now... especially now; you are worthy, whole, and enough.
