Let's be clear, when you are on any song with Brandy Norwood, you will be forced to level up. She is revered as the "Vocal Bible," a title that not even Whitney Houston had. Brandy has been in the music industry for over 27 years. She has brought us a lifetime of hits and albums. She recently had a verzuz duo with Monica; and the two, both, shut it down. "B Rocka" has just released her album B7, after an eight-year hiatus, and it is receiving praise around the world. She has relased treatments for the singles "Baby Mama", "Bordeline," and has proven she can transcend any decade of time and remain relevant.
Watch the video for her current single, “Borderline,” here.
"The single has over 3.7M views," says eOne.
Her new remake to the single "No Tomorrow" featuring Ty Dolla $ign is a certified hit. Ty Dolla $ign is actually "sanging" on the song. If you are unfamiliar with Ty Dolla $ign, the Los Angeles native has brought us hits like "Paranoid," "Love You Better," "Or Nah" and many others. He is more known for his street rap/ hip-hop sound. He is a singer; however, he definitely gives you the feeling of Travis Scott or T-Pain. On this single, he brings it. You can tell how similar and congruent their sounds are together; because, not only does he level up, Brandy crosses over to mirror his sound on parts of the song. It was definitely a smooth collaboration. I'm definitely looking forward to more collaborations from them.
What the culture really needs, is remixes to make a comeback! I'm sure you would love to hear some of your favorites paired together to try to create better versions of their songs or even just a different sound all together? We are here for collaborations! 2020 has given us a lot of things we didn't want; but I can truly say as far as music, we have gotten things that have thoroughly filled out spirits. Who would you like to see collaborate?
Tune in tonight, as GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Brandy and Ty Dolla $ign, l perform the new single, “No Tomorrow Part 2,” on the 2020 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
