For over a decade, the Truth Awards has stood alone as the premier awards show dedicated to honoring the achievements of the Black LGBTQ+ community. In a world where representation still falls short, this event has carved out a necessary space, recognizing individuals who not only defy odds but also redefine culture, media, and advocacy. And now, for the first time, audiences everywhere can experience its impact—streaming exclusively on KTLA+.

From its inception, Better Brothers Los Angeles (BBLA) and The DIVA Foundation, led by the legendary Sheryl Lee Ralph, have ensured that the Truth Awards isn’t just a ceremony—it’s a movement. This year’s honorees include trailblazers like Lee Daniels, Dr. Kimberly Smith, and Wendy Raquel Robinson, proving that authenticity and resilience open doors. As Sheryl Lee Ralph powerfully stated:
By recognizing and celebrating their invaluable contributions, we honor their individual achievements and enhance our shared narrative—a powerful reminder that truth, no matter how challenging, cannot be silenced or overlooked.

What makes the Truth Awards even more groundbreaking is its focus on a community that faces a unique double burden—being Black and LGBTQIA. Unlike other award shows, including the upcoming GLAAD Awards, the Truth Awards centers on celebrating Black queer excellence in an industry and society that often marginalizes them.

This year’s event was about building the future. With $46,500 in scholarships awarded to young Black LGBTQ+ students, the Truth Awards is ensuring the next generation has the resources to thrive.

The star-studded lineup featuring Ava DuVernay, Colman Domingo, Tamar Braxton, and NLE Choppa is a testament to how far the Truth Awards has come. Hosted by Nicco Annan and Ts Madison, the night was filled with emotional performances, heartfelt tributes, and a powerful reminder of why representation matters.

For those who couldn’t attend, KTLA+ is bringing the Truth Awards directly to your screens. This is more than an awards show—it’s a cultural shift, a space for celebration, and a call to keep pushing forward.

Watch the Truth Awards now on KTLA+ and join the movement.
