According to Forbes, in 2024, 350 transgender people were killed, a tragic figure that matched the previous year. Fast forward to 2025, and this administration is being led by a misogynistic, openly racist, and homophobic government. Unfortunately, the fatality rate is only bound to increase—especially under a "leader" who openly makes harmful and hateful remarks about a group of people who simply want to be loved, seen, and respected.

During a Women's History Month event, Trump stated, "No matter how many surgeries you have or chemicals you inject, if you were born with male DNA in every cell of your body, you will never become a woman." This statement ignited a storm of hateful commentary across social media. But how can we respond when the leaders of the so-called "free world" condone hatred, spew toxic rhetoric, and then wash their hands of the violence sparked by their words?
When it comes to protecting those we love, it’s up to us—as allies and community leaders—to take action.
Yesterday in Atlanta, an activist, actress, and reality star TS Madison opened a starter house in honor of Trans Day of Visibility and spoke exclusively with Women for the Culture about the significance of her groundbreaking achievement.
Dear Natasha,Thank you so much for your kind words and for recognizing the significance of the TS Madison Starter House. Launching this initiative on Trans Day of Visibility was deeply intentional—this is more than just a milestone, it’s a declaration that trans people, especially Black trans women, deserve safety, stability, and opportunities to thrive.
In a time when our very existence is being challenged and dismissed by those in power, creating tangible resources and safe spaces is not just important—it’s necessary. The TS Madison Starter House is a direct response to the systemic barriers that so many trans women face, from housing insecurity to employment discrimination. This is a place where they can not only find shelter but also receive support, resources, and community—things that should be fundamental rights, not privileges. My hope is that this space becomes a blueprint for what’s possible when we invest in and uplift trans lives. No politician, no rhetoric, no attempt at erasure can change the fact that we are here, we are valuable, and we will continue to build spaces where we can flourish. I would like to thank Dominique Morgan, who is an endless champion for trans lives and has - along with NAESM Inc. - made a dream of mine become tangible. They’ve worked together tirelessly to create programming, find staff and locate our future stakeholders who will reside here.
To anyone who wants to support this mission, I encourage you to follow @tsmadisonstarterhouse on Instagram and consider making a donation. Every contribution helps us expand our reach and ensure that no trans woman is left without the support she deserves. Thank you again for reaching out, and for amplifying this moment. The fight continues, but so does our resilience.
With love and power,
TS MADISON
As we celebrate Trans Day of Visibility and applaud the courage and resilience of trailblazers like TS Madison, whose dedication led to the opening of this groundbreaking starter house in Atlanta, we are reminded that love, acceptance, and unity must always triumph over hatred and ignorance. In the face of harmful rhetoric from those in power, it's essential that we amplify the voices of marginalized communities, protect their rights, and fiercely advocate for the humanity of every individual. Our collective strength lies in solidarity, compassion, and decisive action. Together, as allies and a united community, we can—and must—build a safer, more inclusive future for all.
